SMALL COMPANIES FUND
The Datt Small Companies Fund ('Fund') aims to capture alpha from ASX small cap (ex-ASX100) equities, utilising the successful portfolio management approach taken by the Absolute Return Fund which has achieved a net compound return of circa 15% per annum since inception. Studies by Goldman Sachs and the UNSW have found that capturing alpha in the small cap space is impossible via passive instruments such as ETFs, and that there is identifiable investment manager skill in uncovering alpha in small-cap equities. Datt Capital has a track record of successfully investing within the small cap space and pro-actively adding value to investee companies as part of its ongoing investment management process. The Fund is only for qualifying wholesale or professional investors. Key Fund Features: Investment Objective: To identify and invest in the 'Blue Chip' companies of tomorrow whilst outperforming the XSOA index by 5% p.a. over a rolling 5 year timeframe. Investment Strategy: The Fund may invest in a concentrated portfolio of 15-25 Australian listed small cap equities across industry sectors; investing solely in small cap opportunities that may provide the best risk-adjusted returns. This is achieved by using the Investment Manager's proprietary research library of >3,000 research pieces and unique investment process that encourages creativity and independent thought. |
