Datt Small Companies Fund
Overview
The Datt Small Companies Fund aims to capture alpha from ASX small cap (ex-ASX100) equities, utilising the successful portfolio management approach undertaken by Datt Capital since 2018. Studies by Goldman Sachs and the UNSW have found that capturing alpha in the small cap space is impossible via passive instruments such as ETFs, and that there is identifiable investment manager skill in uncovering alpha in small-cap equities. |
Investment Objective & Strategy To identify and invest in the 'Blue Chip' companies of tomorrow whilst outperforming the XSOA index by 5% p.a. over a rolling 5 year timeframe. The Fund may invest in a concentrated portfolio of 15-25 Australian listed small cap equities across industry sectors; investing solely in small cap opportunities that may provide the best risk-adjusted returns. |

A Note from our Principal
We think that the small cap opportunity is so compelling... The real objective for us is we really want to discover the blue chip companies of tomorrow, today, effectively using the same investment and portfolio management approaches that we've used with our initial fund.”
